You should see the opening device size selection screen for the Ui mixer.ģ. On your computer, open a browser (compatible with the Soundcraft Ui mixer), and enter the LAN IP address in the browser URL field and press ENTER. The default IP address for the mixer LAN connection is 10.10.2.1.ĭ. Select the LAN configuration and find the IP address for the LAN connection. In the mixer Settings, choose the Network tab, choose the Configuration button, and login with the admin ID and password.Ĭ. Connect a CAT5 or CAT6 network cable between the RJ-45 Ethernet port on your computer and the RH-45 Ethernet port on the mixer.ī. If you lose Hotspot connection and WiFi connection, the LAN connection is your last option before having to execute a factory reset.Ī.

Ensure LAN Connection: Ensure you can connect to and manage the mixer through your computer on the LAN port. These are text files and can be viewed with any text viewer.Ģ. Insert your USB storage device with the exported shows into a USB port on your computer and view the list of files on the device. If you want to be extra cautious, you can review the exported Show information on your computer. You should see the list of all of the shows you exported.Ĭ.

With the USB device still inserted into the mixer, you may choose Import to see a list of your saved Shows. Repeat for every Show until all of your Shows are exported to the USB storage device.ī.

Then login to the software, go into Settings, choose the Shows tab, select a show, and select Export. To backup your shows and snapshots, first ensure that you have a USB storage device inserted into the USB Play port. You will want to have a verified backup of your settings in the event that you need to restore your mixer.Ī. It could be possible that you find yourself unable to access the software inside the mixer and you'll have to reset the mixer to factory settings. Backup your shows and snapshots: First, this is just good practice and common sense. This is critical because you will disable your mixer's Hotspot at one point in order to activate the WiFi connection if you do not take care of this preparation, you might have to factory reset your mixer.ġ. Bottom line: Hide your SSID, and TURN OFF the Hotspot in order to connect to your router through DHCP.Ĭonnecting your Soundcraft Ui12/16 via WiFi:īefore you attempt to establish a "WiFi" connection on your mixer, there are two actions you should take as insurance. Hopefully others will find this and save time and tears. I have struggled with the Ui12/16 network connection issue, and found a solution. I would hide the SSID of the router as well so that others in the club or venue don't try to log into it (just make sure you remember all the passwords :-) ) Having the Ui as a hotspot and Ethernet as a backup is fine but a routers WIFI signal will be much stronger than the Ui anyway.

Connecting the Ui via Ethernet and WIFI to the SAME router, may cause you issues so that's not a good idea. Laptop -> router -> Ui all hardwired and phones to the external router with whatever freq they can connect at. You're saying to run EVERYTHING thru the router. I was thinking a laptop - via ethernet - to run everything, and each band member's phone to give them access to their own monitor, so they don't have to bother the "main" sound guy. I figured even if BOTH hotspot and WiFi dropped out, at least I'd still have the ethernet. Ethernet from my laptop, 5Ghz (by setting the Ui WiFi to connect to the external router) and 2.4Ghz with the internal hotspot - so I had some type of failsafe. I was trying to set it up as a "3-way" connection. It's best to set a STATIC IP for the UI and your devices as well and remember that you will be using the Ui's IP address to bring up the Mixer. Thanks for the reply. Then you can use either 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz to connect to your laptops etc. The Ui only uses 2.4Ghz so it's not going to work for you at 5Ghz, but you should connect the Ui via Ethernet cable in any case, turn the WIFI OFF on the Ui and just connect an Ethernet cable between the Ui and the Router. Does not sound like anything is wrong with your Ui.Īre you trying to connect the Ui via wifi to the router?
